What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst position at Medcor Inc?
Medcor is seeking our next Data Analyst to join their Informatics and Business Intelligence Department. We need a skilled professional who can acquire, manage, manipulate, and analyze data and report results.
This position will work on a hybrid schedule; working 1-3 days per week from our Sioux Falls, SD office and the remainder may be worked from a home office (remote).
The schedule is Monday Friday, from 8:00am 5:00pm CST.
The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 per year plus a full benefits package that begins your first day!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Routine Operations
- Data Integrity: Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
- Data Systems Function: Analyze and problem solve issues with current and planned systems as they relate to the integration and management of data (for example, review for accuracy in record merge, unmerge processes)
- Data Quality Assurance: Monitor for timely and accurate completion of select data elements (for example, timely data entry) through creation of reports on key metrics
- Business Support:
- Create/deliver training and provide expertise as needed to support business function and contribute to overall understanding and proficiency in data capture/analysis/reporting
- Collaborates with various function teams such as Marketing, Operations, and IT to achieve business results
- Source and suggest value-added programs/resources that increase reporting clarity and business impact
- Support/contribute to overall Department success including project identification/completion and results tracking/reporting
Data Capture
- In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
- Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources
- In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize data quality
Data Reporting
- In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
- Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
- Perform basic data analyses for projects and reports
- Create and present quality dashboards and scorecards
- Create and generate routine and ad hoc reports
- Utilize appropriate media for report presentation
Data Analysis
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Partner as needed with Department resources in process improvements based on trending and analysis
You Must
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in a related subject or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst and / or database administrator
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Have experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate
- Be adept at SQL queries, SSRS and PowerBI report writing
- Have technical expertise regarding data models and database design development
- Have an understanding of XML
- Be able to write reports, business correspondence, requirement documents, test scenarios, and procedure manuals
- Be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Be able to travel (less than 5% of time)
