SummaryIn this position you will collaborate with and be an integral part of a team that designs and manufactures complex structures for the logistics, e-commerce, and material handling industry, helping to move goods and services around the world.Job Responsibilities & RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review and interpret design criteria to generate 3D models for a wide variety of project types and sizes.
- Coordinate with engineering team to produce approval and design documents.
- Generate detail drawings for the manufacturing team.
- Review and confirm models and details conform to MiTek and manufacturing standards, including review of constructability.
- Incorporate revisions as required.
- Generate fabrication shop data such as DSTV and DXF drawings.
- Provide support for manufacturing, responding to questions, as needed.
- Provide support for field service personnel, as needed.
- Produce 3D models, drawings, or other visualizations to support sales efforts.
- Contribute to the development of modeling standards, tools, and process to support continuous improvement efforts.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) in Engineering, Architectural, Design or other applicable degree/experience.
- Experience: Five years of experience using Tekla Structures to model steel structures.
- Tekla BIM Administration experience (setting up custom components, model templates, drawing templates, etc.)
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products. Strong 3D Visualization skills. Strong structural detailing skills.
- Other Requirements: Ability to read and understand construction documents in both 2D and 3D. Self-motivated with ability to work independently. Knowledge of building codes, design and construction standards, and efficient construction techniques, specifically for steel structures.
