What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Noah’s Restaurant?
Noah's Restaurant in Stonington is looking for a Baker. Noah's was co-founded by a traditional baker who baked our breads and desserts from scratch and we have continued with this tradition. We use a 100 year old sour for our Rye, use rye and wheat flours ground for us by Kenyon Mill and bake our house and sandwich breads and buns. We also bake all of our cakes, pies, brownies, cookies and other desserts and look to the Seasons for our fruit dessert choices.
~ The right candidate will have prior knowledge of bread and dessert baking, be able to lift
50 pound bags of flour, stand for 8 hours, be Servsafe certified, and be able to
communicate effectively with kitchen and the FOH staff.
~ Be able to work cleanly and efficiently, be willing to help out when and where needed but
also be willing to ask for help. Be able to arrive in a timely fashion and complete the days
work in a given time frame. We know baking has lots of variables so we are flexible on
hours and shift length.
~ Do consistent bakes and be able to adapt to ever changing baked goods needs while using
our tested recipes and creating new ones. Creativity is definitely a plus, our guests love our
desserts and love to see new ones.
~ Be self directed and able to keep up a current inventory. Our needs change throughout the
year so our baking fluctuates as well. Fresh, awesome baked goods are the desired
outcome year round.
