What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Innovation Specialist Sr position at ONEOK?
The Principal/Sr. Innovation Specialist will work with stakeholders – both business and technology organization teams to drive Magellan’s innovation program by leading innovation projects, developing prototypes and acting as liaison between the Technology group and Business Units across Magellan’s business. The Principal/ Sr. Innovation Specialist will identify new opportunities to leverage digital technology, lead innovation Proof of Concepts (PoCs) from genesis to MVP, evaluate processes and technologies for best-in-class approaches, and assess impacts to processes and technology ecosystem.
- Execute and enhance digital roadmap of the enterprise
- Create function requirements for innovation opportunities with strategic implementation plans.
- Pilot and co-lead innovation PoCs for modernization and transformation through an iterative approach.
- Act as a thought leader in innovation processes and techniques
- Develop and/or lead the development of protypes to MVP
- Engage with functional partners and influence project decisions through assessing risk and benefits.
- Engage with technical partners to ensure plans are communicated and executed to deliver on innovation commitments
- Create capability roadmaps that demonstrate the possibilities of any innovation PoC
- Maintains awareness of technology changes and advancements in the broader technology space and advises leadership on those changes and how they can improve our business.
- Manage large, complex projects to develop new capabilities through the use of digital technology
- Present opportunities to all levels of leadership
- Decompose complex innovations into actional plans
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in any field
- 7 years in relevant experience
- Programming in C#, Python, or Java
- Experience in developing new digital products and services
- Familiarity with company structure and department functions (internal only)
- Demonstrates knowledge of both traditional Waterfall and Agile / Lean methodologies
- Ability to understand and document complex business processes
- Demonstrated ability to quantify resource requirements and measure and communicate proposed project benefits
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and their practical use in the enterprise
- Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation and influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes
- Strong data analytic abilities and ability to identify patterns within data
- Rapidly acquire new knowledge and learn new skills
- Ability to use judgement to form conclusions that may challenge conventional wisdom, focusing on the crux of issues to identify high leverage intervention points and strategies
- Convey complex and technical business issues to diverse audiences, both in presentations and routine communications
