We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Team Leader, Tech Support in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Subsurface Business Unit based in Houston, TX. You will manage and contribute to a team focused on supporting upstream geoscience business needs as well as process improvement and automation. Responsibilities: - Continue to improve the Permian geoscience technical support workflows through improvements in best practices, standards, innovation and automation - Connect with Permian technical BU leadership to ensure the team is meeting the needs of the business and prioritizing high value projects and initiatives - Liaison with the appropriate personnel to properly assess the value of incoming business requests or initiatives, creating business cases with value assessment where necessary - Create opportunities for the Geoscience Tech Support team to share knowledge, improve processes and develop their skillsets
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline Experience: Minimum of eight years of industry experience Skills & Competencies: - Strong understanding of the fundamentals of petroleum geoscience - Strong technical skills in data management, geoscience, and engineering applications - Good negotiation and influencing skills - Ability to identify and connect the right individuals within Oxy in order to drive results - Collaborative and a strong team player with effective interpersonal skills - Has a passion for technology and innovation - Ability to effectively communicate both up and down the organization, both IT and our Oxy lines of business in order to drive business value and achieve business results - Ability to think strategically and can see the bigger picture - Committed to Oxy Values Occidental is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
