Distribution Specialist
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under minimal supervision establishes payments (distributions) from a variety of retirement plan types, ensuring accurate processing of benefits to recipients. Provides customer service, timely and professional responses to plan sponsors, plan consultants, vendors and participants on a daily basis. Works within federal regulations regarding payments and tax withholding.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Service Delivery via inbound/outbound telephone conversations with an emphasis on a high level of service delivery that is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for receiving and processing participant requests, adding records to the distribution system.
- Researches and resolves participant and payment issues and communicates the results to the participant and/or plan sponsor.
- Provides Administrative support and ensures a superior level of customer service is provided, by serving as primary person for communication with plan sponsor or plan consultant on all matters related to distribution detail.
- Answers verbal and written inquiries concerning distributions in a prompt, efficient and professional manner.
- Provides timely and appropriate resolution to inquiries and problems, soliciting necessary information.
- Reviews and analyzes participant requests from a variety of source documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance to established policies, procedures and regulations.
- Clarifies incomplete or inaccurate forms by reviewing information provided with participant and/or plan sponsor and receiving corrections as needed.
- Reviews and distributes a variety of communications.
- Responds to inquiries on all documents regarding regulatory issues, tax form reporting, form completion and implementation.
- Performs all functions to provide superior customer satisfaction levels while meeting certain established processing goals.
- Responsible for processing customer transactions by coding, verifying and posting data to applicable systems from a variety of source documents.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of the retirement plan industry and/or financial services
- 1 year of previous data entry-processing experience and 1-2 years related customer service experience, helpful.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Proficient in computers and spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to meet operational deadlines and adhere to firm guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in team environment in a variety of functions to obtain department goals.
- Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and confidential information.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, strong reasoning and analytical ability required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
