What are the responsibilities and job description for the Proposals Analyst position at Pearson?
Pearson VUE’s proposal team is a close-knit group that highly values teamwork and collaboration. The Proposal Analyst will bring exceptional writing and editing skills; project management skills; and the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, quickly, and effectively.
The Proposal Analyst takes responsibility for the entire proposal process from RFP receipt to high-quality proposal creation and delivery in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
The Proposal Analyst will work closely with team members, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Development, and other key staff to develop and deliver high-quality, compelling proposals.
In addition to writing, the Proposal Analyst is responsible for project managing bid assignments, which includes facilitating bid kickoffs, managing the bid schedule, and performing related tasks.
Education and Experience:
- BA or BS, preferably in English, Journalism, or Business or similar degree
- 2 to 4 years proposal writing or similar experience
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Word and moderate proficiency with other Office suite products. Knowledge of PDF software and LucidChart a plus.

- Review RFP in detail and identify mandatory business requirements
- Draft and submit RFP questions to procurement officers
- Write new text or customize existing text for proposal responses
- Ensure all aspects of RFP are addressed with pertinent SMEs
- Accurately incorporate all edits from reviewers
- Ensure 100% accurate and clear cost proposal/forms
- Ensure compliance with RFP requirements
- Work with the Proposal Coordinator to complete production tasks to compile finalized proposal packages, including appendices as needed
- Guarantee successful delivery of superior quality proposals on time
- Follow RFP submission requirements accurately
- Support Best and Final Offer submissions
- Create and manage the bid schedule
- Schedule, facilitate, and actively participate in bid kickoff meetings, bid strategy meetings, and pricing review meetings
- Prepare administrative documents to guide bid production
- Create database entries to track bid details for reporting
- Track procurement sites for bid amendments/Q&A and distribute information
- Work with the legal team to complete the legal review for each bid
- Proofread and edit proposal drafts as needed
- Monitor state procurement sites for incoming RFPs
- Other proposal support as assigned, including boilerplate text updates
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time salary range is between $65,000 - $75,000.
