This role is a real opportunity for someone with 2 years of experience to take their skills to the next level with a market leader in plant-based eating. We’re building out our analytics function within the marketing and culinary space to create a customer-first demand model that will power everything from purchasing and menu planning to strategic marketing initiatives at both the campaign and company level.
We have a mature business model and customer base, and a decade of data at our disposal. We have clearly defined needs and objectives in the analytics space, but need the right person to build out the process to get there. Location
- Purple Carrot HQ is in Needham, MA and prefers local candidates to work in a hybrid model.
On the Plate
- Work closely with the Culinary, Operations, Finance, and Marketing Analytics teams to understand demand forecast drivers and improve the accuracy of demand forecasts.
- Take ownership of our operationally critical demand projections ,then create a new demand planning model and process that improves efficiency and accuracy. Your eventual goal is to develop a bottoms-up projection model built on individual user-level behavior.
- Be the subject-matter-expert for all inputs, outputs, structures, and process flows that impact the projections process.
- Take the lead in responding to questions, issues, and analysis requests related to your areas of expertise cross-functionally across the organization.
- Serve as the lead to run SQL queries of our backend tables for the marketing team.
- Collaborate with fellow analytics colleagues to promote standard methodologies in coding, statistics, and general analysis.
- Ownership of analytics deployments and accountability for multiple streams of work.
- Define and implement end-to-end programs for metrics creation, data collection, reporting and data modeling
Main Ingredients for the Role
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience in technical forecasting or demand planning
- 2 years of experience in forecasting, planning, and/or reporting systems.
- Experience building, orchestrating, manipulating, and maintaining data transformations using SQL
- Flexibility to adapt to new/unfamiliar tools, data and problems, and experience with or interest in learning programming languages such as Python or R.
- Proficiency in Looker (LookML) or other BI Tools
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities - able to convey the most important information to stakeholders, and to be effective in both technical and non-technical (business) situations
- Curiosity and willingness to explore sophisticated and ambiguous problems and deliver practical insights through both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Experience leading projects end to end
Extra Special Sauce
- Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools (i.e. Snowflake/BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran,)
- Advanced in using Python or R for data analysis
- Understanding of how key marketing channels work (Content, Email, Social Media, SEO, SEM, Display, Affiliate)
- Experience partnering with data and analytics engineering teams to process data for marketing analytics and reporting consumption
