Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the inbound and outbound transportation network
- Negotiate contracts and develop relationships with transportation providers and freight forwarders
- Support the logistics team with developing tracking, performance monitoring, and communication methods for the various carriers and brokers
- Establish KPIs for the various carriers and brokers that are utilized
- Develop weekly and monthly volume forecasts to provide operations and carriers for capacity planning
- Logistics coordination of trade shows and project management for specialty moves
- Audit 3PL and carrier shipping invoices for accuracy
- Generate reporting metrics to summarize carrier and operation performance
- Establish carrier redundancies to ensure that sufficient capacity is maintained for the forecasted inbound and outbound volumes
- Negotiate with the various carriers and brokers to obtain the most competitive rates for the distribution network
- Ensure milestones, goals are met and ensure adherence to approved budget
- Track and report cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives on regular basis
