Porter - in Brooklyn

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Superintendent in identifying and reporting any conditions that may impact the safe and efficient maintenance of the buildings, grounds, parking areas, outside perimeter, and mechanical equipment.
• Follow a schedule of written maintenance and cleaning procedures established by the building Superintendent.
• Perform garbage and recycling removal following sanitation guidelines.
• Conduct cleaning activities such as washing, waxing, polishing, sweeping, vacuuming, etc., in designated areas to maintain a clean and well-cared-for environment.
• Represent the Company in a professional and businesslike manner when interacting with residents, providing courteous and quality service.
• Assist the Handyman, if required, in temporary job responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted building services.
• Report all observed unsafe conditions, illegal sublets, illegal construction, and other pertinent information to the Superintendent while on duty.
• Follow the direction of the Superintendent and assist in preparing vacant apartments for re-rental.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building maintenance or janitorial services is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness and order.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and the proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Professionalism and the ability to interact with residents in a courteous manner.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing staffing requirements.
• Basic knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per year
