We are in search of a diligent Litigation Paralegal to work remotely on a contract basis. This role is based within a defense law firm and involves assisting with a first pass relevancy review. Operating within the client's matter management system is a key part of this role. The location for this position is Hayward, California.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing a wide variety of legal documents for relevancy
- Tagging documents according to established protocols
- Working within the client's matter management system to ensure efficient handling of tasks
- Dedicate 40 hours of availability Monday - Friday during traditional business hours
- Utilize skills in Document Review, Relevance, Privilege, Civil Litigation, and Ediscovery to effectively perform duties.
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Paralegal role or similar legal positions.
- Proficiency in Document Review is required.
- Should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the concepts of Relevance and Privilege.
- Civil Litigation Experience is a must-have for this role.
- Experience in using Ediscovery software and tools is necessary.
- A bachelor's degree in law or a related field is preferable.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills are required.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with others are essential.
- Must have a strong ethical stance and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and databases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is necessary.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
- Ability to interpret and relay complex legal information with clarity.
- Must be adaptable and comfortable with change in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong client service skills are essential.
- Must be proactive and take initiative in tasks and projects.
