In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.
Your responsibilities
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
- Create & /or support a recruitment plan according to business and operational projections
- Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
- Work with other members of the HR department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
- Assess employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- Draft templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
- Employee relations, including engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
- Engage with other teams, including with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
- Responsible for operations tasks for the HR department
- Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
- Strong understanding local, state and federal laws
- Prior HR Generalist experience
- Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks
- Prior experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Prior experience coordinating and implementing Open Enrollment is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
- Prior full cycle recruiting experience
- You will do well in this position if you are highly professional, and able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
- Proficient with office computer applications and software, as well as social media platforms
