The Departmental Representative functions as a Front Office Receptionist within the Physical Medicine department which includes outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy, providing a friendly, rapid and accurate patient arrival experience to the department throughout the course of treatment. Also responsible and accountable for providing exceptional administrative support to the department.

Your day.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday; shifts could be 6:45-3:15 or 9:45-6:15.
As a Receptionist you need to know how to:
- Greet patients, perform arrival documentation in systems, and administer appropriate forms to patient. Schedule all patient follow-up appointments once initial evaluations complete. Obtain accurate information from patient/family in a pleasant, efficient manner to input into the computer system.
- Process and maintain schedules for all disciplines; manage clinical schedule, coordinating with therapists, patients and PASC team to maximize clinic productivity. Reschedule patients when needs arise.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment. Perform opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth clinical operations.
- Provide clinical documentation (patient evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries) to referral sources in a timely manner. Perform area clerical duties such as typing, photocopying, filing, scanning and faxing documents, medical records, reports and other materials, based on departmental needs.
- Compile monthly stats. Assist department with charge corrections, data entry into reports, creating and maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and other documents using a variety of software applications.
- At all times maintains professional public image and behavior towards co-workers, hospital medical staff, visitors and patients. Demonstrates awareness of his/her public image in interpersonal relationships in the workplace. Communication, cooperation and assistance are given promptly in a clear and courteous manner. Consistently adheres to the confidentiality policy.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and PASC team to troubleshoot account issues. Work with needs of individual department and staff.
- Demonstrate a teachable, positive, can-do attitude by adapting to change, viewing problems as a challenge and not an obstacle, and developing solutions.
Your experience.

- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, required.
- CPR required by completion of the unit-specific orientation and before working independently.
- One (1) year of medical office experience, preferred.
