SCOPE/GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Simply NUC’s Website Designer is responsible for serving as the primary creative designer of the company’s websites, working within the WordPress CMS to create new pages using HTML and CSS, as well as editing existing pages as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, designs and iterates the overall appearance of the website and the layout of individual page templates.
- Coordinates with the Marketing Department to develop and implement goals as they relate to the company’s web pages; inputs and manages product data to maintain accuracy.
- Utilizes image editing capabilities as necessary to format images for the web.
- Is able to produce basic drawn storyboards to match a prompt or description.
- Replicates provided mockups within WordPress, and is able to design new pages from scratch.
- Performs image editing to resize pictures, point out features, or edit small details
- Is able to approach the website from a customer perspective and promote improvements using simple UI/UX wireframes
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in an art- or design-related discipline, or related field preferred but not required. Relevant work experience may be substituted.
- Three years’ experience in a web-focused environment as either a web or graphic designer preferred. A personal portfolio demonstrating familiarity with the work may be substituted.
- Heavy familiarity with HTML and CSS required.
- Experience with WordPress (or other basic CMS) strongly preferred.
- A strong familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator (or similar equivalent) preferred.

- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff and management.

- Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, speak and hear.
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
