Sodexo is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager (Retail Manager 3) for South Dakota State University Dining in Brookings, SD – an hour from Sioux Falls. Our large and complex account hosts excellent opportunities for learning and career growth experiences. This is a great opportunity for a polished restaurant manager or Branded Retail Food manager who is pursuing a long tenure, a career opportunity with a campus that is nationally recognized for being an extremely innovative Food Service Operation.
Our successful, experienced Food Retail Manager (experienced in managing branded concepts ie:Chik-Fil-A, Qdoba, Einstein Bagels, Starbucks, etc) will partner directly with our client to assure that our student, faculty and staff dining options achieve high satisfaction survey scores and to grow our business. This role will provide leadership for our high level supervisors who oversee each retail location. This Retail Management position offers a sound career path in hospitality. The successful candidate will:
- motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly-paid), staff;
- provide stellar customer service;
- oversee cash handing processes, and POS programming and maintenance;
- ensure company food and physical safety programs and standards are followed;
- conduct retail brand standard audits (in-house and national brands);
- maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands);
- manage the opening and closing the operation as well daily retail food service operations;
- ensure all needed signage (including digital) is in place;
- manage vendor relationships and compliance; and/or
- maintain all product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards are in place.
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:
- 3 – 5 years management experience in National Branded Food concepts (ie: Chick-Fil-A, Einstein Bagels, Starbucks, Qdoba), or background in large restaurant or other food concepts;
- have a work history in Food Retail management demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization;
- possess the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service;
- exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and/or
- demonstrate working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems as well as menu graphics programs.

Key Duties

- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
