What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tire Technician position at South Central FS?
Job Summary:
Responsible for a variety of tasks which are required to assist in meeting internal and external customer needs.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
· Change and balance tires
· Diagnose and repair tires (plug and patch)
· Performs and records daily safety checks of equipment as required
· Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars
· Change oil and perform other ordered maintenance on vehicles
· Communicate effectively with customers
· Responsible for inventory control
· Develop knowledge of tire size and parts necessary for proper repair
· Maintains an appropriate inventory of parts necessary for repairs and maintenance
· Complete work orders
· Test drive vehicles
· Deliver repaired vehicles to customers
· Answer phones and handle internal and external customer inquiries
· Work effectively with co-workers
· Responsible for the housekeeping of the shop and company vehicles
· Successfully adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures. EHS, OSHA, EPA and DOT policies and procedures must be adhered to at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
