What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at TAB Bank?
The HR Generalist’s primary responsibilities are to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This individual assists with the management of employment issues, recruitment and retention of quality talent, avoiding litigation and minimizing risk. The HR Generalist helps manage the administration and communication of all human resources policies, procedures and programs. The individual reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and supports 200 employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the entire talent acquisition and recruiting process while working with hiring managers: posts positions, administers assessments, prescreens candidates and assists with the hiring process including internal transfers
- Conducts new hire orientations and completes on-boarding with new employees
- Acts as a resource on human resources matters; provides guidance, assistance and support to management, supervisors and employees
- Ensures transparent and clear communication to all employees regarding all HR policies, handbooks, programs and benefits
- Works with payroll and benefits departments and is a liaison for employees
- Coordinates employee meetings, including quarterly Town Halls and various educational meetings
- Prepares monthly reports and materials such as the organizational chart
- Coordinates recognition programs and events
- Assists with the performance management system
- Performs data entry in HRIS (Human Resource Information System)
- Maintains employee files
- Works collaboratively on projects and other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and three (3) years of job-related experience, preferably in the human resources field or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Human Resource experience in the banking industry is a plus

- Strong working knowledge of human resources practices and employment law

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with stellar listening skills
- Ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization and engage employees in order to develop the right strategies to solve critical issues
- Ability to consistently have a positive outlook and be a team player, diplomatic and very approachable
- Solid understanding of conflict management with negotiation and mediation skills
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make informed decisions based on data and statistics
- Attention to detail with data entry and when composing and proofing materials
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work and manage time wisely
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Word and Outlook) and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping
