Claims Specialist / Data Entry
Monday-Friday first shift
Description :
- Scanning all claim forms;
- Editing all errors and / or inquiry areas on claim forms;
- When / where possible, correcting information using the scanning software edit function, so claim can proceed;
- Working to ensure batches are prepared and committed regularly and consistently;
- Alerting Claims management of any unusual encounters in terms of quantity or quality.
- Processing all return mail, preparing same for mailing, and then performing the mailing process within allowable timeframes.
- Assisting with opening and sorting incoming mail to be processed;
- Log all batches that have been worked for the day.
- Identifying corrected claims and notes updated in Plexis for the Claims Analysts.
- Count batches the following morning in the drawer to provide totals and latest dates.
- Purge all the claims verified, once all claims have been received from Multiplan.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Data entry / computer skills required
