Job Title: Registered Nurse
Location: White Plains NY
Duration: Full Time
Shift: Mon- Fri 9am-5pm
- Prescription requests, according to procedure.
- Communicates normal and abnormal test results in collaboration with provider including appropriate followup.
- Performs therapeutic treatments and procedures.
- Assist with procedures.
- Administer oral/IM/IV/SQ/Inhaled medications.
- Coordinates delegates and/or provides all other patient care activities.
- Coordinates in-patient admissions and ER referrals.
- Acts as a patient advocate.
- Documents according to standards of care.
- Promotes and provides for patient safety in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.
- Provides presentations to care team members.
- Ensures all staff participates as a member of the patient care team, participates in daily huddles and attend regular scheduled practice team meetings.
- Attends in service and continuing education programs.
- Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and significant others.
- Informs and educates patient/family to enable participation in their care and decision-making.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and patient responses and outcomes to care.
- Collaborates with team members to make the necessary changes to patient plan of care.
- Communicates pertinent information and changes in patient status to appropriate members of the care team and other health care providers.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- BLS certification required (must be through the American Heart Association).
- ACLS required (as of 6/1/21)for all RNs working in the Cancer Center or Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS)
- Knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends and practices in rendering of patient care

- Must be able to assess and respond to rapidly changing situational needs of patients, department and hospital

- Must be able to detect sounds and respond to emergency sounds/signals at all times
- Must be able to constantly operate computer, equipment and other devices
- Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruptions and attend to tasks for more than sixty 60)minutes at a time.
- Individual must be able to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given during the course of a day
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed
