What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp position at The Connection?
We’re thinking SUMMER at The Connection, a community-based nonprofit organization in Summit, NJ. Our summer camp is committed to providing campers with excellent recreational, educational, and fun experiences while creating a memorable summer in a physically and emotionally safe environment. We are accredited by the ACA (American Camp Association).
The Connection is currently recruiting for 9 great weeks of summer camp employment June 20 – August 19. Our morning camps run 8:30am -1:30pm, our afternoon camps run 12:15pm – 4:45pm and our all day option is 8:30am-4:45pm. A 6 week minimum commitment is required.
The following positions are available this summer:
Camp Counselor: you will be responsible for leading assigned group of children. Openings are available in all 9 weeks of morning and afternoon camps. Experience working with children is a group setting is preferred. 6 week minimum required.
Theater Camp Teacher: our afternoon theater camps run on 2 week sessions and culminate in an on stage performance. Teachers are responsible for choreographing for and teaching the campers. Openings are available for Dance, Acting, and Singing teachers. Teaching experience is preferred; dance/theater experience is required. 6 week minimum required.
Head Art Teacher: you will be responsible for planning and teaching art projects to campers in our morning camp. Teaching experience preferred, some college/field experience required, 1 year of experience working with children in a group setting required.
Preschool Camp Head Teacher: you will be responsible for overseeing our morning Guppies campers, providing daily activities, and for assisting them in rotating through their special activities. Preschool/elementary teaching experience preferred, some college/field experience required, 1 year of experience working with children in a group setting required.
Camp Coordinator: in our afternoon specialty camps you will be responsible for camp preparation, planning daily activities, and teaching/overseeing campers throughout the day. Teaching experience is preferred, some college required, experience/study in field required, 1 year of experience working with children in group setting. 6 week minimum required. Openings are available in the following afternoon camps:

Art
Fashion
Cooking
Preschool/Kindergarten Camps
