Newland is looking for a PR Director to lead communications strategy and client relationships, develop exciting initiatives that generate PR headlines, and manage a team of junior PR professionals. While our company HQ is in New York City, this is a remote role.

About this job:
The PR Director will join our fast-growing Public Relations team as a leader, focused on leading the strategy and day-to-day success for of Newland’s consumer PR clients.
The person in this role will act as a strategic partner to their clients, championing big, creative ideas on their behalf. They will develop and execute communications strategies that demonstrate a keen understanding of each client’s business goals and unique POV.
The PR Director will build and mentor a rockstar team of junior PR professionals, as well as working cross-functionally where needed with Strategy, Creative and Account to ensure their communications strategy is an integrated and supportive piece of the overarching strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Leading Consumer PR for Newland clients, developing thoughtful integrated communications strategies, overseeing press office and pitching and securing coverage
- Laying the groundwork for each client’s PR efforts, including establishing processes, defining success and measurement, and ensuring close partnership with client teams
- Bringing expertise and client confidence to the team, acting as a strategic partner to Newland’s clients and ensuring their business goals remain in focus
- Taking initiative to improve our processes and identify opportunities where we can better serve our PR clients via new resources, tools, or staffing needs
- Developing thoughtful measurement recommendations for each client, in partnership with Data Strategy lead, that ensure success is clear and measurable
- Building, managing and overseeing a team of junior PR professionals
About you:
- 5-7 years of experience in public relations, including client leadership experience
- Ability to act independently and take initiative
- Active and warm reporter relationships
- Proven success ideating big, out-of-the-box ideas that generate PR headlines
- Excellent communication and client presentation skills
- Laser-focused on top priorities and an expert at delegating tasks accordingly
- Organized and great at time management
