What are the responsibilities and job description for the Combat Engineer position at U.S. Army?
As a Combat Engineer, you’ll work quickly and skillfully to help Soldiers navigate while on combat missions by constructing bridges, clearing barriers with explosives, and detecting and avoiding mines and other environmental hazards. You'll provide expertise and come up with quick and creative engineering solutions, constructing fighting positions, fixed and floating bridges, and obstacles and defense positions.
Combat Engineers conduct mobility, counter-mobility and survivability in support of combat forces. The Combat Engineer works as a member of a team, squad, or platoon performing basic combat construction and reconnaissance missions.

Training:
- 14 weeks of One Station Unit Training, which combines Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training

Requirements:
- Medical: No major medical issues or concerns *Must complete a full medical screening process.
- Moral: No major law violations and have a favorable background *Must complete an FBI background check
- Education: Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent or be a High School Senior on track to graduate.
- Test: Must pass an aptitude test with ASVAB Score: 87 Combat (CO)
- Contract: Must enlist into the Army or Army Reserves *This is not a civilian position
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
