What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM COORDINATOR position at UHS?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Directs the Comprehensive Diabetic Foot Ulcer and Peripheral Vascular Disease operations, developes strategy and promotion of the program. Participates in scheduling appointments in collaboration with the physican offices. Coordinates the verifies patient knowledge base prior to assessment and assists patient through entire process. Ensures follow up consultation with specialists and provides education and support as needed. Serves as a clinical expert and leadership consultant to nursing, members of South Texas Health System (STHS) and the larger community. Participates in development and maintenance of the program statistical database. Works with phyicians to address identified performance improvement needs of the program.
Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups. Performs other related duties as required. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have and maintain current BLS certification
2. Must possess strong knowledge of healthcare
3. One or two years of peripheral vascular experience, invasive or non-invasive preferred.
4. Must possess project management and strategic planning skills
5. Demonstrates competency and professionalism in verbal and written communication.
6. Requires some flexibility with work schedule subject to changing priorities and demands.
7. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1. Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license.
2. Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University.
3. RN will have BLS upon hire (and maintain through employment) Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
