The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking a Civil Bentley CAD Manager who will support the Civil Engineering department in design and project delivery. The position will also lead operational standards, strategy, and ensure process adherence for projects utilizing Bentley products. This individual will manage and oversee the integration, project workflows, digital design methods, and technologies. This individual is also responsible for user training, internal and external design standards adherence, and implementation.

What You’ll Do

SOFTWARE

  • Oversee the software configuration and tools related to Bentley platforms, such as MicroStation, ProjectWise, and iTwin. As well as Bentley transportation design software such as OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and ConceptStation.
  • Manage use of Bentley software including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the product configurations and workspaces.
  • Responsible for the implementation of CAD standards and familiarity of workspaces related to Department of Transportation (DOT) and municipal clients.
  • Manage the implementation of supporting software for project delivery.
  • Evaluate new project delivery and digital delivery related software and technologies to enhance productivity and project performance and management.
  • Stay informed on best practices for use of software impacting digital design.
  • Promote integration and efficiency tools to increase effectiveness in the project delivery process.

TRAINING

  • Provide fundamental and intermediate training on software processes.
  • Conduct internal continuing education training sessions.
  • Provide technical orientation for new hires regarding design technology tools.
  • Create training documentation and material for ease of adoption across all offices.
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops related to design technology to incorporate learning into company processes and training.

STANDARDS

  • Responsible for design documentation and technology standards. Which includes training, development, implementation, standards enforcement, enhancement, and change management.
  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of templates, catalogs, tools, macros, and configuration files to assure high standards adoption across all offices.
  • Partners with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Team and subject matter experts to assist in evaluation of and increasing adherence to company and client standards of project documentation.
  • Work with various committees to strategize project delivery, company operations, best practices, guidelines, and implementation across all offices.
  • Create standards documentation and material for ease of adoption across all offices.

MANAGEMENT

  • Work closely with leadership and technical staff in the Civil Engineering department ensuring needs are met.
  • Create written technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with the corporate goals.
  • Evaluate and report on the firm’s current workflow, strategies, budgets, projects, staffing, etc.
  • Maintain and enhance a workflow process that promotes user involvement in forming feedback channels to continue to improve and enhance existing project delivery and optimization of internal and external standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in design and digital delivery as it relates to utilizing Bentley products.

PROJECT INTERFACE

  • Support project standards and coordination with Department of Transportation (DOT) clients.
  • Assist on project work, including support for design, drafting and detailing questions.
  • Assist project teams in project setup and execution planning.
  • Help resolve design and coordination issues.
  • Act as a support escalation point between IT help desk and software vendors for complex issues with design software.

What We Expect from You

  • Associates degree in drafting, architectural or engineering design or related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in utilizing MicroStation and Bentley transportation design software for large complex projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent in a CAD leadership role including process and standards development.
  • Expertise with MicroStation CONNECT Edition is required.
  • Expertise as a user with ProjectWise is required.
  • Expertise with Bentley transportation design software is required.
  • Familiarity with Bentley civil programming (OpenRoads SDK).
  • Strong computer, technical, and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members.
  • Good communication and training skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong teaching and coaching skills to bring new team members up to speed.
  • Demonstrate skills of self-motivation and drive.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Compensation Range is Generally /- 15% of Position Mid-Point is $116,000*
