Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough analysis in development of cost estimates supporting internal product development initiatives. Work with element leads and engineering to derive component, subsystem and product level costs, using a variety of parametric cost modeling. Assist with trade studies (make or buy decisions). Support design-for-manufacture studies and inform supplier negotiations. Develop cost estimating models and cost estimating relationships. Support subcontractor proposal evaluations. Review and challenge Basis of Estimates. Cost volume analysis.
Qualifications: 8-10 years' experience. Experience creating cost estimating models. Ability to construct and analyze complex bill of materials. Experience estimating one or more of the following types of aerospace components: machined parts, castings/forgings, aerospace structure, welding/joining, valves, tubing, avionics, harnesses, composites. Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs. Experience with space vehicles is a plus. Experience with cost estimating tools such as aPriori is a plus. Strong communication and presentation skills. Highly ethical standards. Ability to manage complex projects.
