What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Cook position at We Care HCC?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: To prepare food in accordance with current policies and procedures to assure that quality food service is provided at all times. As a cook, you assume the responsibility necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. You are also responsible to uphold to philosophy of Foltsbrook Center.
**This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review menus prior to preparation of food.
- Complete and submit the necessary forms, reports, etc., and assume the responsibility of Cook.
- Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
- Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned.
- Prepare meals that are in accordance with planned menus that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Obtain food samples to be held for three (3) days.
- Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as facility established policies and procedures.
- Perform scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Report all accident/incidents as established by department policies.
- Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
- Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Assist in food preparation for specific meals, parties, etc.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies and equipment and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation and safety.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of five (5) pounds to minimum height of five (5) feet; utility carts will be used to transfer supplies, equipment and products throughout the facility.
- Be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.
- Cope with any mental or emotional stress of the position.
- Perform any other pertinent duties as assigned by my supervisor.
