WHO
we’re looking for:
We are
looking for a PCB Developer who will be responsible for supporting multiple programs. In this position, you will perform circuit board layouts using CAD software to meet department defined performance and program requirements.
Role
and Responsibilities:
-
Interpreting schematic diagrams and utilizing preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate PCB designs for RF, Digital, Power, and Mixed Signal disciplines.
- Executing the detail design for printed circuit boards and completion of documentation to IPC and department standards using PCB design CAD tool.
- Perform independent reviews of the design using provided software tools.
- Coordinating with other disciplines affected by design development.
- Self-check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Working with the Producibility Engineer to facilitate design reviews as they relate to PCB layout and design for manufacturability.
- Incorporating Engineering Change Notices on PCB layouts and drawings.
Required Experience and Education:
-
5 years’ experience designing the layout of printed circuit boards using Siemens (Mentor) Xpedition suite of tools.
- Understanding of Printed Circuit Board fabrication.
- Understanding of drafting principles.
- Must be familiar with applicable industry (IPC) design and end product performance standards for circuit card assemblies and printed wiring boards including IPC-6012, IPC-2221, J-STD-001, IPC-7351
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge and document descriptions of technical solutions for CCA and PCB technology products.
Desired Qualifications:
- Lead, or supervisor experience in a PCB design organization, leading/supervising 5 or more designers.
- Experience performing layout of printed circuit boards using Siemens Xpedition Layout CAD software.
- In addition to Xpedition experience, familiarity with design tools for printed circuit board and circuit card assembly technologies (EDM Library, Blueprint, VALOR NPI, etc.)
- Familiarity with PCB/CCA technology Manufacturing Design Rules and Guidelines.
- Prior experience designing, and/or supporting aerospace/defense related products.
- Expertise in component selection for military and aerospace environments.
- IPC CID or CID certification.
- Existing security clearance.

- Must have strong documentation habits, as it relates to reporting daily activity, hours worked, design changes worked, and other required reporting for this position.
- Must have a strong desire to learn and contribute to a team environment
- Microsoft Office tools i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio.

moderate hand/finger dexterity.
Performs
work under time schedules and stress which are normally
periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines,
intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project
management deadlines. May require working additional time
beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
