Yogi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Engineer to manage the maintenance, operation, and optimization of our facility's physical infrastructure and support our production maintenance team.
Role Summary
Yogi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Engineer to manage the maintenance, operation, and optimization of our facility and manufacturing equipment assets. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all building systems, production equipment and warehousing. The Plant Engineer will support equipment maintenance teams with reliable performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, with expertise in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and project management. The Plant Engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to implement best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Safety

- Develop regular safety inspection, reporting and corrective action for the offices, operations areas, and grounds.
- Implement safe working practices and programs for maintenance facilities technicians.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Implement predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis and thermography to anticipate equipment failures and take proactive measures.
- Support production maintenance with equipment reliability, installation and process design.
- Serve as equipment lead for distribution and warehouse teams.
- Support Quality, Sanitation and R&D teams with equipment and facility needs.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the office, manufacturing facility, including utilities, HVAC systems, and building infrastructure.
- Control and manage security systems, BMS system and associated contract relationships.
- Maintain building design documents, contracts, contacts and other documents related to facility management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to facility operations, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize facility layout and workflow to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Build relationships with our vendors and strategic partners who perform regular maintenance and upkeep of our facility and grounds. Identify areas for improvement, negotiate contracts and manage costs and variances.
- Lead capital projects related to equipment upgrades, installations, or expansions, from conception to execution, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse and QA/R&D teams to identify and evaluate new technologies and equipment that improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical expertise and support for the procurement of machinery and equipment, including vendor selection and negotiation.
- Develop capital investment plan annually.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team to stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in plant engineering or maintenance management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Background in leading capital projects from ideation to start up, including budget responsibility.
- Strong technical knowledge of food processing equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools for preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, warehousing and production maintenance
- Strong strategic planning and tactical decision making skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the specific industry of the products being manufactured is highly desirable.
- Fluency in business English, spoken and written
- Very good knowledge of MS-Office-Suite, Auto-CAD
- Domestic and/or international travel quarterly or based on business need
