Requirements and Responsibilities
Actuarial Services Supervisor supervises actuarial modeling, pricing, and reserving activities. Oversees the completion of actuarial calculations, data validation, and report preparation to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Being an Actuarial Services Supervisor reviews the work of junior staff and provides technical guidance, coaching, and development. Coordinates workflows and assignments to meet reporting deadlines and business priorities. Additionally, Actuarial Services Supervisor applies actuarial methods to analyze risk, pricing adequacy, and reserve requirements. Communicates findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional partners. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA). Typically reports to a manager. The Actuarial Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Actuarial Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
