Automotive Mechanic II performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles and light trucks. Provides miscellaneous mechanic works, including but not limited to body work, diagnosing, disassembling and assembling components and engines. Being an Automotive Mechanic II performs all duties according to safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Automotive Mechanic II typically reports to a supervisor. The Automotive Mechanic II has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. To be an Automotive Mechanic II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associates degree, or additional training or certification.
