Requirements and Responsibilities

Bioinformatics Analyst V is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of biological data using computational and statistical methods. Works with large-scale data sets and identifies patterns and trends. Being a Bioinformatics Analyst V uses a variety of bioinformatics tools and may develop new software applications to solve problems in the field of genomics. Implements quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected data. Additionally, Bioinformatics Analyst V requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Bioinformatics Analyst V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Bioinformatics Analyst V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
