Requirements and Responsibilities

Biopharma Process Engineering Manager manages a team of engineers that are responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing biopharma processes. Oversees the process simulations, modeling, and scale-up studies to ensure efficient and cost-effective production. Being a Biopharma Process Engineering Manager reviews and evaluates processes to enhance yield, productivity, and product quality. Identifies process bottlenecks, performs root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions to improve process performance. Additionally, Biopharma Process Engineering Manager ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations and align with industry best practices. Stays current on emerging technologies and trends within the biopharma industry. May require a master's degree in biological/chemical engineering or a related field. Typically reports to a director. The Biopharma Process Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Biopharma Process Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
