Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Being a Buyer II tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information. May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Buyer II typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Buyer II gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Buyer II typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
