CAD Support Technician III performs computer aided design (CAD) drafting support. Creates drafting files from notes or sketches, assists engineers and designers with the completion of drawings, and executes CAD file modification. Being a CAD Support Technician III coordinates and consults with engineers and designers to complete projects. Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Additionally, CAD Support Technician III reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The CAD Support Technician III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a CAD Support Technician III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
