Requirements and Responsibilities
CAE Design Supervisor II supervises the computer-aided engineering (CAE) function to support and optimize the design engineering process for complex products, components, or structures. Facilitates collaboration with engineering teams to provide CAE design, analysis, and modeling support. Being a CAE Design Supervisor II reviews and evaluates layouts and drawings to ensure clarity, completeness, and adherence to design standards and protocols. Implements CAE tools and techniques that enable benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, and testing protocols. Additionally, CAE Design Supervisor II oversees and coordinates daily activities and recommends improvements to design engineering processes and capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The CAE Design Supervisor II supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a CAE Design Supervisor II typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
