Requirements and Responsibilities
Case Management Manager manages a team of case managers responsible for patient care coordination. Develops and implements case management programs, including utilization review, intake or discharge planning, and managed care contracting. Being a Case Management Manager evaluates patient care data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with organizational guidelines and standards. Contributes to the development and improvement of clinical care pathways that enhance cost-effectiveness while providing quality care. Additionally, Case Management Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a director. The Case Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Case Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
