Requirements and Responsibilities

Claims Intake Specialist III performs the initial intake, setup, and triage of new claims to ensure timely and accurate entry into the claims system. Gathers and verifies claim details, policy information, and required documentation from claimants and reporting parties. Being a Claims Intake Specialist III enters and assigns claims accurately based on type, severity, and routing guidelines. Communicates with policyholders, claimants, and providers to acknowledge receipt and request missing information. Additionally, Claims Intake Specialist III identifies urgent or high-exposure claims and escalates them according to established protocols. Maintains accurate records and ensures compliance with documentation and regulatory requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Claims Intake Specialist III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Claims Intake Specialist III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
