Clinical Informatics Manager manages the implementation, maintenance, and analysis of data from clinical informatics systems. Oversees the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems, bed management systems, computerized physician order entry systems, or any other relevant health information systems. Being a Clinical Informatics Manager analyzes and reviews data produced by these systems to identify trends and areas for improvement and to ensure systems are functioning properly. Evaluates and establishes initiatives to improve systems or integrate new systems. Additionally, Clinical Informatics Manager may provide staff training on new or updated systems. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Clinical Informatics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Informatics Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
