Requirements and Responsibilities

Commodity Buyer IV purchases commodities for use in manufacturing and other business applications. Monitors and analyzes the commodities market and overall economic conditions to ensure that commodities are purchased at competitive prices. Being a Commodity Buyer IV participates in contract negotiations and ensures that orders include correct quantities and comply with quality standards. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Commodity Buyer IV requires technical and purchasing expertise on assigned commodities. Typically reports to a manager. The Commodity Buyer IV work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Commodity Buyer IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
