Computer Operator III operates and monitors computer equipment. Performs routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals. Being a Computer Operator III observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on monitor of terminal to detect faulty output or machine stoppage. May oversee the work of lower-level computer operators. Additionally, Computer Operator III may require an associate's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. The Computer Operator III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Computer Operator III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
