Data Science Supervisor collects, analyzes, and interprets large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and provide key business insights. Leads and delegates data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Being a Data Science Supervisor implements policies and procedures to ensure data mining activities are compliant and ethical. Develops insights and reports from multiple structured and unstructured data sources using programming, statistical, and analytical techniques and tools. Additionally, Data Science Supervisor maintains continuous collaboration with teams to understand the underlying purpose, focus, and objective of each data analysis project to ensure alignment and support. Designs, develops, and implements the most valuable data-driven solutions for the organization. Typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Science Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Data Science Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
