Requirements and Responsibilities

Database Engineer IV develops or modifies procedures to solve complex database design problems, including performance, scalability, security and integration issues. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents complex databases. Being a Database Engineer IV competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of database engineering activities. Requires comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, along with solid coding and computer system skills. Additionally, Database Engineer IV typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Database Engineer IV is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. To be a Database Engineer IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
