Requirements and Responsibilities
Demand Planning Supervisor supervises demand planning and forecasting activities to support production operations, inventory management, and business decision-making. Gathers and maintains inventory levels, sales data, production metrics, and product demand trends to ensure accurate and available data for analysis. Being a Demand Planning Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and determines the best metrics to provide accurate and responsive forecasting models and tools. Leads cross-functional collaboration to incorporate promotional activity, seasonality, and market intelligence into forecasts. Additionally, Demand Planning Supervisor monitors forecast performance and forecast bias to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions. Reviews forecast reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Demand Planning Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Demand Planning Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
