Diesel Mechanic Manager manages day to day operations of a diesel repair and maintenance shop. Schedules, trains, and coordinates work of mechanics and technicians. Being a Diesel Mechanic Manager ensures inventory of replacement parts, tools, and equipment is maintained effectively. Establishes and enforces quality and safety standards and regulations for preventive maintenance and repairs. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic Manager knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Experienced in heavy diesel engine diagnosis and repairs. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a director. The Diesel Mechanic Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
