Requirements and Responsibilities

DOT Compliance Supervisor supervises the team responsible for ensuring an organization's commercial drivers and/or vehicles adhere to federal and state transportation regulations. Maintains driver qualification files, oversees mandatory drug and alcohol testing, audits hours of service logs, and monitors vehicle maintenance. Being a DOT Compliance Supervisor may prepare and file regulatory and compliance documents. Has a thorough understanding of DOT rules and regulations. Additionally, DOT Compliance Supervisor typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The DOT Compliance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a DOT Compliance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
