Energy Distribution Systems Manager manages the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of electric and gas distribution systems within an assigned area to ensure reliable and safe service. Directs the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance, construction, and restoration activities carried out by supervisors and field crews. Being an Energy Distribution Systems Manager establishes work procedures, performance metrics, and resource plans to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and reliability requirements. Manages departmental budgets, staffing, equipment, and materials, and oversees contractor performance on distribution system work. Additionally, Energy Distribution Systems Manager analyzes outage data, reliability trends, and operational performance to guide maintenance strategies and improvement efforts. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require NERC System Operator Certification. Typically reports to a director. The Energy Distribution Systems Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.
