Requirements and Responsibilities
Energy Field Maintenance Supervisor supervises the daily field operations for the maintenance and repair of electric and gas distribution systems to support system reliability and safety. Coordinates and schedules crews for construction, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair work on distribution facilities. Being an Energy Field Maintenance Supervisor reviews field work to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with maintenance standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Ensures crews follow safety rules, switching and clearance procedures, and proper work methods on energized and de-energized systems. Additionally, Energy Field Maintenance Supervisor coordinates with operations, engineering, and outside contractors to complete planned work and restore service during outages. Trains, mentors, and evaluates field workers and provides guidance on complex or hazardous tasks. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Energy Field Maintenance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Energy Field Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
