Facilities Design Engineer IV plans and implements the design of plants, offices, and production lines to optimally utilize available space and improve production efficiency. Understands business needs and work processes to design workspaces that maximize productivity and drive efficiency. Being a Facilities Design Engineer IV prepares floor plans, blueprints, and other schematics to communicate the design and functionality of potential layouts. Estimates costs and benefits related to improving layout design, including equipment, materials, time, and labor. Additionally, Facilities Design Engineer IV tracks and monitors productivity metrics to evaluate and quantify the effects of facility design changes, measure return on investment, and recommend improvements.
