Facilities Engineer V plans, designs, and maintains facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organization. Utilizes CAD software and engineering principles to design and communicate specifications for facility modifications, new development, or equipment. Being a Facilities Engineer V analyzes specifications and requirements to establish facility plans and estimate design costs. Researches and sources the equipment and materials required for the facility, verifying specification requirements and adherence to budget allotment. Additionally, Facilities Engineer V maintains expert knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Engineer V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Facilities Engineer V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
