Requirements and Responsibilities

Facilities Engineering Supervisor plans, designs, and maintains facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organization. Implements processes and policies to ensure facility designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards. Being a Facilities Engineering Supervisor utilizes CAD software and engineering principles to design and communicate specifications for facility modifications, new development, or equipment. Analyzes specifications and requirements to establish facility plans and estimate design costs. Additionally, Facilities Engineering Supervisor researches and sources the equipment and materials required for the facility, verifying specification requirements and adherence to budget allotment. Maintains expert knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Engineering Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Facilities Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
